The Cusped Arch is inspired by decorative architectural arches formed by a series of small curves, known as cusps.
This type of arch was commonly used in Gothic and Islamic architecture to add rhythm and ornament while maintaining structural clarity.
In this clock, the cusped form is simplified into a clean, sculptural opening that frames the cuckoo bird with gentle repetition and balance.
The cuckoo bird emerges from the arched opening on the hour, creating a subtle architectural dialogue between form and function.

The body is hand-painted, paired with a natural plywood front.

(for example, at 4 o’clock the cuckoo sings 4 times).
